The Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw is the oldest and largest drama school in Poland. Founded in 1765, the Academy has trained some of the most renowned figures in Polish theater and film, including actors, directors, writers, and designers. The Academy also offers courses in music, dance, and costume design. In addition to its regular courses, the Academy also organizes workshops, master classes, and other events to enhance the education of its students. The Academy is located in the center of Warsaw and is a part of the University of Warsaw.

History
It was founded in Łódź in 1946 and moved to Warsaw in 1949. It continues the tradition of National Institute of Theater Arts (Państwowy Instytut Sztuki Teatralnej) established in Łódź in 1932. It was founded as the National Superior School of Theater (Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Teatralna) and received a patron (Aleksander Zelwerowicz) in 1955. In 1962 he received certification as University education institution. It received its current name in 1996.
