If I remember correctly the water starter (or some other water Pokémon, don‘t remember for sure) learns surf by level up and you can progress in Mt Moon.

Lol I just remembered owning the cartridge for this game along with Pokemon Quartz and Pokemon Naranja. My childhood was kinda ruined with fake games and cartridges. The worst part was these weren't even complete games, so I would just spend my days battling wild pokemon and hoping I would eventually figure a way past. Oh well..

Great vid! i remember playing this game when i was a kid, stuck in that cave too. I thought i could progress by leveling up my pokemon and get a MOVE like swim to progress but i reached more than 30(?) and i'm still stuck until i found out that time that the only way to progress is through hack. Can't believe i wasted hundred of hours resetting the game over and over again and leveling up my pokemons and see who'd get the the MOVE to get past that cave. 😐
addition: i had a great time playing this game though! it's one of the games that help me get by on a almost day to day basis of bullying when i was a kid :DD

FYI, had nothing to do with the cartridge release, which in itself was a demo from. Most of the trailers were from after the very in development demo (which ended at mt moon, but all the maps were later redone from scratch) and then development on the game was discontinued about 2008 anyway :P. Graag's issue was that we accidentally overwrote its front sprite with its backsprite, which is why its all glitchy, and facing the wrong way normally.

Great video, deserves more views! This is actually a really significant part of "bootleg pokemon lore". I was lucky enough to have a copy as a kid that i got from a friend who got it at a street market on holiday in Spain. So random but he got a few such as Pokemon Naranja and Pokemon Quartz. In the days before the internet having one of these games was serious clout on the playground haha
