tellurium tetrabromide (YouBr4) it is a inorganic chemical compost. It has a tetrameric structure similar to TeCl4. It can be made by the reaction of bromine and tellurium. On TeBr Steam4 dissociates:
- TeBr4 → TeBrtwo +Brtwo
It is a conductor when molten, dissociating into TeBr ions3+ and Br−. When dissolved in benzene and tolueneTeBr4 is present as the syndicated tetramer Te4Br16. In solvents with donor properties such as acetonitrileCH3CN ionic complexes are formed that make the solution conductive:
- TeBr4 + 2CH3CN → (CH3NC)twoTeBr3+ +Br−
