The Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT) is a private university located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It was established in 2001 by the Reliance Group, in memory of its founder, late Dhirubhai Ambani. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in the fields of Information and Communication Technology, Computer Science and Applications, Electronics, and Media and Communication Studies. The university has a strong focus on research and has been ranked among the top universities in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). The university also has collaborations with leading universities and research organizations around the world.

Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), is a self-funded private university/institute located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It is named after the Gujarati entrepreneur and trust group founder Dhirubhai Ambani. It is managed by the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation and promoted by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group.

DA-IICT began admitting students in August 2001, with an admission of 240 undergraduate students to its Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) program in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). It has since expanded to include postgraduate courses such as Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in ICT, Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Information Technology, Master of Science (ICT) in Agriculture and Development Rural, Master in Design (M. Des.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), doctoral program. The duration of the Bachelor’s program is 4 years. The first batch of DA-IICT postgraduates graduated in 2004 and the first batch of graduates in 2005. Fees are nominal when compared to other private institutions in India.
Admission
Admission is based on Joint Entrance Exam – Main as well as examination for gujrat status through the ACPC. Some seats are reserved for non-resident Indians (NRIs) and Foreigners (FNs), who are admitted through the Foreign Student Direct Admission (DAFS) channel.
Although in recent years the NRI quota has been dropped.
Student Achievements
- DAIICT was ranked 11th in the world for student developers among universities in the year 2016. by HackerRank.
- Team of 2 DA-IICT students won the GNLU Debate 2016 in the Beginners category.[citation needed]
- 17 DA-IICT students selected for the prestigious Google Summer Of Code, 2013.[citation needed]
- The DA-Developers team represented DA-IICT at the National Finals of the 2013 Imagine Cup and took third place in India at the Imagine Cup World Citizenship contest with their app “Read For Blind”.
- Team of 4 students took third place in the National Finals for “Samsung USID Design Challenge”, 2012 for their app “Location Alarm”.
- 17 students selected for Google Summer of Code, 2012, the most in India and the third most in the world.[citation needed]
- One student won the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2010 Innovate4Women award and one of her team was a national finalist in the Microsoft Imagine Cup India.
- Team of 4 students won Unlimited Potential Multipoint Education Award from Microsoft Imagine Cup 2009, World Finals. The same team placed third in the National Finals in the Software Design category of Microsoft Imagine Cup 2009, India Finals
- Two female students won the Google Women Engineering Award in 2009 and 2010
- Two of his teams were winners of the Microsoft, High Performance Computing Scholars Program 2008
- Teams of four students have won the Microsoft Imagine Cup two years in a row in 2006 and 2007
- Student teams won the TI DSP Design Competition in 2005, 2006 and 2007
In 2004, three DA-IICT Masters (IT) students challenged in the High Court of Gujarat the IIMA’s decision not to offer admission interviews to them citing their eligibility criteria (AIU or AICTE affiliation was required at the time). The decision was in favor of the students and the CAT eligibility criteria were subsequently modified.
