is a weekly series on the UFC Fight Pass digital network. The series features up-and-coming MMA fighters from around the world competing in a single-elimination tournament for a UFC contract. Each episode features five fights, with the winners being announced at the end of the show. The series is produced by the UFC and hosted by UFC president Dana White.
Dana White’s Contender Series
Dana White’s Contender Seriespreviously named Tuesday Night Contender Series by Dana Whiteis american mixed martial arts promotion. In May 2017, the UFC announced that White would hold the competition weekly in UFC Fight Pass (already transferred to ESPN+). As in the previous webseries looking for a fight, the aim of the series is for White to look for talent for the UFC. Equal to the last fighter none of the fighters involved will have existing contracts with the UFC. Licensed separately from the UFC with Dana White applying for a promoter’s license, it was stated before the license was approved that “this is not the UFC, this is not the UFC brand, but rather a promotion that will allow emerging fighters the chance to showcase their talents in the hope that one day they will can compete in the UFC.”
The inaugural event took place on July 11, 2017. All events were held at UFC Headquarters in las vegas.
