Just a tip for anyone replacing the buttons: If you use the Micro-Leaf switches from GroovyGameGear (They also carry the Zippyy joystick) you don't need to buy a new harness to wire the buttons easily. The stock quick-disconnects will fit perfectly onto the tabs for the Micro-Leafs.
Question: Regarding the Zippyy joystick, did you go with the long or the short version?
Found leaf switches on eBay (which makes me a little nervous. Rollie doesn't seem to make them anymore.
This is a fantastic idea. I've had my Defender partycade since Xmas 2021 and love it, though frustrated with the less-than-responsive stock joystick and buttons. I'd love to give this mod a try. Paradise Arcade seems to be temporarily shut down. Will source the buttons from another supplier. I trust you are still pleased with your modification?
The Rollie Leaf Switch seems to no longer be available for the buttons. Any recommendations on an alternative?

Just an FYI — On the joystick you can remove the bracket plate from the new joystick ( as you are showing in the video ) and replace it with the bracket from the old joystick and use the old plate to install the new joystick instead of having to drill new pilot holes for the new bracket plate.

Every Countercade I have the control panels are ALWAYS extremely loose when I first get them, so yes you do need to tighten them up and then problem solved.
Please be careful because when I tried to take the control panel apart to fix my Centipede Partycade's trackball, somehow the sound quit working. Avoid the Centipede Partycade at all costs!
Excellent video (beautiful little princess you have!) but do you know anywhere that can ship those parts to Japan? I just bought and received the 1up defender you have in the video and wanted to upgrade it like you did but the shops you link to do not send to Japan.

Excellent mods, I enjoyed the specific button choices you made. Thanks for creating this reference material. I pulled the trigger and ordered this party cade last night. I've never modified any of my 3/4 scale 1up's but I'm thinking I might do some shopping for some buttons and joysticks to just have around if I ever decide to take the plunge.
